Reflective Inquiry
Over 400 years ago, Shakespeare gave us the wonderful line “This above all: to thine own self be true.” Today, these words of wisdom are more important than ever. And yet, so many of us are sleep-walking through our days estranged from our essence, depleted by the burden of our masks and our armor.
Recent research indicates that up to 62% of people feel the need to hide their true identity at work. Studies have shown that whilst 9 in 10 people are willing to be authentic, only 5 in 10 are willing to be vulnerable – and without vulnerability true authenticity remains out of reach. It has been reported that the number one regret of people who are dying is that they have not lived a life that was true to themselves.
These insights reflect a huge problem because now more than ever, it is essential that we activate the fullness of our individual and collective human potential.
Leaders who find the courage to be true to themselves, creating inner/outer alignment engender psychological safety, trust, creativity, innovation, engagement, inclusion, well-being and performance.
I wrote my first book Self-Fidelity to contribute to a much-needed shift. And, in the spirit on ongoing contribution, I have also created a Reflective Inquiry Tool. I created this tool to help people to answer this vital question: “Am I being true to myself?”
Self Fidelity Practice To Play With
This week I invite you to experience my reflective inquiry tool.
The tool will guide through 30 short questions grouped into 4 sections. These questions have been carefully crafted to take you right to the heart of the matter. It will take you about 5 minutes to answer all the questions.
After you answer all the questions you will receive an email that contains your results and a link to my Guide To Self-Fidelity. This guide is only available for Reflective Inquiry Tool participants.
You can access the tool here – enjoy!
The path to self-fidelity is not always an easy one, but arguably it’s the most important ‘work’ we can be engaged in right now. My sincere hope is that you find the support you need to trust in your enough-ness and embody a more vibrant expression of who you truly are.
Because the world desperately needs each and every one of us to activate more of our unique potential.
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
Howard Thurman
